Day 1 Casablanca

Marhaba in Morocco! Your adventure begins today with and included transfer, after the checking your hotel, your tour guide will be at our disposal for a welcome meeting in the lobby (regarding your arrival time!) besides your guide will give you an orientation walk to discover the old medina and wander inside its alleys. Then perhaps explore Casablanca Corniche, enjoying a cup of sweet mint tea in some popular coffees!

It’s very important that you attend the welcome meeting as we will be collecting Passport number, insurance details and next of kin information at this time. If you are going to be late, please let your travel agent or guide know. Some travelers have reported being approached by locals offering excursions before their trip commences. Day 2 Meknes - Moulay Idriss

This morning we drive towards Meknas one of the historical cities in this kingdom, 17th century founded by the Sultan Moulay Ismail that turned the city from a provincial town to a spectacular Imperial city. On arrival, get to know Meknes on a guided visit with a local guide. For lunch, visit a friendly local restaurant in the medina and try a Moroccan delicacy – a deliciously rich camel burger! Then continue half an hour driving to Moulay Idriss and settle in at a local guesthouse, where the art of hand-rolled couscous is lovingly demonstrated and presented with an original Moroccan meal.

Day 3: Chefchaouen

Drive to Chefchaouen, or Chawen the ‘blue city’ located in northwest Morocco, is not only distinguished by its striking blue Andalusian architecture but also by its rich history and cultural tapestry. The town founded in 1471 as a fortress to resist Portuguese invasions. Its Medina is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, preserving its medieval character with narrow, winding streets adorned with colorful doorways, intricate tiles, and vibrant textiles. The Kasbah, a fortress dating back to the 15th century, offers panoramic views of the town and the surrounding countryside. This evening you will get a real insight into Rifien (Rif Mountains) lifestyle with a home-cooked dinner prepared with seasonal ingredients, overwhelmed with flavors and made with love.

Day 4: Fes

Enjoy your morning in Chefchaouen, taking in the sights, sounds, and smells of the medina, the shops in the square selling woven goods and small sweets. In the afternoon, travel to Fes one of oldest and most culturally rich cities in the Arab world. Fes is the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco – vibrant, noisy, fascinating and overwhelming. You’ll have free time for the rest of the day to explore. Perhaps, take your evening to seek out Moroccan specialities like Harrira (chickpea soup)

Day 5 Fes

Take a guided walking tour in the bottom of the old city, offering a captivating blend of ancient history, diverse cultures, and a lively atmosphere that immerses visitors in the authentic spirit of the country, Step back into the Middle Ages as you explore the labyrinth of the Medina, which is alive and hectic with craftsmen, markets, tanneries and mosques. Pass donkeys piled high with goods. Yes! it is one of the largest car-free urban zones in the world! Explore and get inside the Souk that holds different specialty sections, Look out for the Medersa Bou Inania, one of the city’s most beautiful buildings, which has recently been restored and is now open to tourists. Also, visit a ceramics factory where you can see traditional handmade pottery being made. Your local leader will guide you on a ‘tasting trail’. This afternoon you’ll taste one of the city’s signature dishes – pastilla (or bastilla) – a salty and sweet pastry parcel.

Day 6 Midelt

Morning drive across the fertile countrysides and over the middle Atlas, crossing these little iconic cities Azrou, Ifrane and Imouzar which are a part of ‘Fes-Meknes’ region. Worthy break in Ifrane, nicknamed “Little Switzerland”, known for its lakes, rivers and huge national park. This National Park is home to the largest cedar forest in the world (recognized by UNESCO as a huge natural heritage), it is also considered as the ecological capital of Morocco, the area is populated with wandering nomadic shepherds attending to their flocks. Pass through cedar forests, home to North Africa’s only monkey – Barbary apes –
Towards Midelt, nestled in a valley and originally established as a mining base and surrounded by farmland and orchards. Stretch your legs as you explore the nearby villages and walk at local farming life. In the evening, a special meal will be prepared using the aromatic herbs native to the region.

Day 7 Merzouga

Enjoy a spectacular drive and get ready to change the scenery, so many spots to stop and admire, panoramic views, Kasbahs and palm groves (valleys lush with date palms, oasis and orchards). Coffee and lunch breaks in such typical towns (Erfoud and Rissani) before reaching your destination, have a short visit in Arfoud museums and touch its antique fossils that dates back to Ordovician and Paleozoic era. Later today, you will leave your gear at a simple Auberge and then ride camels to the edge of the Sahara Desert, enjoying a mesmerizing sunset along the way. The dunes are beautifully golden! Dinner this evening at your desert camp will be a traditional spread of Moroccan soup, tajine and seasonal fruit.
Do not forget to extend your eyes up, Merzouga offers incredible opportunities for stargazing, the night sky in Sahara Desert is a breathtaking spectacle, with countless stars, planets, and constellations visible!

Today’s camel trek is a loop from your camp on the edge of the desert and back. If you don’t wish to ride a camel, you can walk alongside the camels or relax at the camp. Tonight’s accommodation will be in nomadic-style tents with a dining and bathroom tent. Blankets and mattresses are provided, but during the winter months, from November to March, you may consider bringing your own sleeping bag for extra warmth and comfort. Electricity is very temperamental and relies on batteries. Therefore, it’s better to come prepared with devices fully charged.

Day 8 Toudgha gorges

Rise and shine nice and early this morning and climb one of the sand dunes to watch the sunrise over the Sahara. Then drive to Todra Gorge – a massive trench that rises over 300 metres to form one of the most natural sights in Morocco, such a gorgeous gorges! When you arrive, head out on a leisurely walk through the Todra Valley with your leader. You’ll walk through shaded palm groves and local farms – thanks to the abundance of water here, there are orchards of almost every variety! Think apples, pears, plums, apricots, quinces, pomegranates, figs, almonds and peaches as well as tomatoes, mint, squash, carrots, turnips, beans and grapes. All these plantations belong to locals, who you’ll meet along the way, learning how they take care of the land using traditional irrigation techniques. Tonight, you might like to enjoy an optional dinner of all the local produce you’ve seen growing around you.

Day 9 Ait Ben Haddou

Today we’ll leave the Toudgha gorges to set off on the Kalaa M’Gouna then the fabled Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. A kasbah is a type of keep, or citadel, usually a part of the defensive structure of a city and often where the local leader would reside. The first museum visit for us today is the majestic oasis of Skoura, home to several privately owned kasbahs. Here we’ll visit Kasbah Amridil, with its extravagant decorations and mud-brick fortifications, before continuing on to Aït Benhaddou, Perched on a hilltop and almost unchanged since the 11th century. It is one of the most iconic sites, a real example of southern Moroccan architecture and has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town has a long list of film and TV credits, including Lawrence of Arabia, Game of Thrones and Gladiator. Enjoy a leisurely walk through the winding streets of the old town, making your way to the hilltop, from where you can enjoy the views across the surrounding plains.

Day 10 Marrakech

After breakfast today, meet your local guide and set off on a morning tour of the old medina, through the bustling Markets that are the lifeblood flowing through the city. Explore tranquil courtyards filled with the scent of orange blossom, and the many salons and chambers that make up Bahia Palace. This splendid mansion was built in 1866 for a former slave who rose to power within the government. Stop by the Koutoubia Mosque, its famous minaret is the prototype for others of its kind around the world, including La Giralda in Seville. Then walk back through the streets of the old medina to the Djemaa el-Fna to enjoy a refreshing glass of fresh orange juice

Day 12 Marrakech

There are no activities planned after breakfast so you are free to leave your accommodation at any time. It’s worth adding a night or two in Marrakech, perhaps, if you wish to spend more time, we’ll be happy to book you an extension of tree days trip in a beautiful coastal city – Essaouira or any –Optional activity-
