Morocco might make you think of big, busy markets and even bigger deserts, but there’s so much more to this exciting country in north-western Africa than first meets the eye. Take this journey to discover colourful seasides spots, with time to check out some of the country’s best beaches (and maybe catch a wave or seven) along the way. From the vibrant Marrakech to the deep Sahara Desert, roll west until the Atlantic Ocean, here in Taghazout the magnet of Moroccan chillers and the seaside town of Essaouira is made for kicking back and soaking up some cultural vibes.

Day 1: Day in Marrakech

Marhaba in Morocco! Your adventure begins today with and included transfer, after checking your hotel, your tour guide will be at our disposal for a welcome meeting in the lobby. Take the fun to new heights as you grab drinks and kick back at a rooftop bar. Don’t get too distracted by the incredible views of Marrakech, though, that you forget to get to know your new travel companions and prepare for the thrilling journey ahead,

It’s very important that you attend the welcome meeting as we will be collecting Passport number, insurance details and next of kin information at this time. If you are going to be late, please let your travel agent or guide know. Some travelers have reported being approached by locals offering excursions before their trip commences. Day 2: Marrakech to Todra Gorges

Depart Marrakech and gaze out the window as the city gives way to rocky hills and terracotta villages. Disembark upon arrival in Tinghir and get in touch with Morocco’s Mediterranean flora during a walk through palm groves. Then, fly to an other planet! Yes it’s Todra gorges. Fall asleep beneath sheer cliff walls to the sound of a gurgling river and the wind catching in the palm trees.

Day 3: Todra Gorges to Merzouga

This morning you start the journey towards the vast golden Sahara desert. So many spectacular views will invite you stop and take a salty/dry breath and pictures as well! After the last magistic Ziz oasis break a mint tea and a warm welcome await you at your dune-side hotel. Saddle up and travel by camel to the perfect perch atop the dunes to view the sunset paint the sky hues of red, blue, and orange. After, under a canopy of stars, enjoy dinner and an evening of entertainment by the campfire. Let your imagination run wild as you listen to traditional music on the drums alongside stories about the region. We dare you to top this campfire experience.

Today’s camel trek is a loop from your camp on the edge of the desert and back. If you don’t wish to ride a camel, you can walk alongside the camels or relax at the camp.

Tonight’s accommodation will be in nomadic-style tents with a dining and bathroom tent. Blankets and mattresses are provided, but during the winter months, from November to March, you may consider bringing your own sleeping bag for extra warmth and comfort. Electricity is very temperamental and relies on batteries. Therefore, it’s better to come prepared with devices fully charged.

Day 4 : Merzouga to Ait ben haddou

We know you’ve officially fallen in love with desert life, but it’s time to hug your camel goodbye. Rise early for the sunrise, then travel along the route of thousands Kasbahs to the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, one of the most iconic and beautiful kasbahs and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 5 : Ait ben haddou to Armoud (high Atlas)

Ready to gain some elevation? Head into the magnificent High Atlas Mountains and cross the Tizi n’Tichka pass (at 2260 m) before heading into Toubkal National Park. Take to the winding roads like a pro and gaze out the windows as small villages wiz by. Upon arrival at the small village of Imlil, strap on your hiking shoes and embark on a 1hour hike from Imlil to the quaint mountain village of Aroumd (Aremd). Bask in the jaw-dropping elements — the sweet mountain air and the proximity to the jagged mountain peaks. Cozy up in your mountain Gîte after a home-made dinner of local produce in a moroccan salon.

Day 6 : Armoud to Marrakech

Begin the day by hiking back to Imlil and beginning your journey to the “Red City,” Marrakech. Unlock the many secrets this ancient city has to offer in its mazelike alleys, ornate palaces, and lush gardens. When the heat of the day gets to you, relax at one of the many tea houses situated on the buzzing square (best people watching guaranteed). Opt to visit the stunning Musée de Marrakech, explore the ruins of El Badi Palace, or wander through Jardins Majorelle — a sprawling botanical garden developed over the span of forty years. End the day like a local with an optional group dinner in the famous food stalls of Djemaa el Fna.

Day 7 Marrakech

Take advantage of more free time in Marrakech to wander the Djeema el Fna square in the heart of the medina. Try to keep up with the ever-changing market as it switches up its offerings throughout the day. Then meet your friends for a local street food experience in the main square of Jamaa El-Fenna, there try to sip Harrira our Moroccan soup with chickpeas, perhaps snails with its souce…

Day 8 : Marrakech to Taghazout

This afternoon we make our way towards Agadir city, wander through its fascinating beache! Enjoy seafood on one of the restaurants that looks over the Marina Beach, then, continue driving to the fishing village of Taghazout. Bask and admire its brilliant sunset from the rooftop of your hotel.

Day 9 : Taghazout

Wake to the soft tones of waves crashing along the shoreline, then suit up for a surf lesson. Hit the waves for a free afternoon of surfing or swimming. Prefer land surfing? Opt to go hiking or do yoga. After a day of embracing your wild side, what could be more fitting than gathering around a bonfire on the beach as the sun kisses the horizon goodnight?

Day 10 : Taghazout to Essaouira

Take coastal living northward to colourful, sun-drenched Essaouira. Get in a guided visit around the city with a local guide, enjoy the breeze of its Skala, pass through its giant gates, ramparts and its historical harbor. Tonight meet on its vibrant rooftop restaurants and jump in a Gnawa rhythm for a local live music!! (you’ll get drunk this night even without drinks – just kidding-)

Day 11 : Essaouira to marrakech

Hit the road one final time and return to Marrakech. Even though your trip ends on arrival, make sure you take enough time to take plenty of photos with newfound friends to commemorate the memories made. There are no activities planned this day. It’s worth adding a night or two in Marrakech, perhaps, if you wish to spend more time, we’ll be happy to book you some excursions/activities (check optional activities section).
